RINGSCAFF modular scaffolding for industrial heritage site on the Spanish coast

Stability first: RINGSCAFF supports the restoration of a Spanish landmark

Perched above the waves on Spain’s Cantabrian coast, the Cargadero de Dícido is more than just steel and rivets – it’s a piece of industrial history.

Built in 1938, this mineral loading platform once played a key role in northern Spain’s iron ore export. The original structure, designed in 1880 by M.T. Seiring, a partner of Gustave Eiffel, was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. Its successor still stands – but after decades of corrosion, it urgently needed restoration.

Together with our partner INDUSCAFF, we helped make that possible – with nearly 90 tonnes of RINGSCAFF and full engineering support tailored to this sensitive, heritage-listed site.

Highlights of this challenging project:

  • Full access – including suspended platforms under the steel structure
  • Scaffold design adapted to avoid stressing the weakened frame
  • Approved by Spanish engineering authorities
  • Modular flexibility to keep the structure safe and stable
